Position: MRI Technologist

Location: Alpena, MI, 49707

Shift Type/Shift Times/Hours/Day: Nights 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM, 8

Shift Notes: 11P - 7:30A, Sun - Thurs (40 Hour Guarantee)

Weekend Requirements: No Weekends

On-Call Requirements: No Call

COVID-19/FLU Requirement: na

Traveler Policy: Cannot accept local candidates who live within 50 miles of the facility.

Equipment: Siemens

Dress Code: Matching Scrubs of any color

The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to; performing magnetic resonance imaging on patients utilizing highly technical equipment and administering contrast materials as required. Other functions may be assigned.

A Day in the Life of an MRI Technologist

• (25%)* Prepare scan room and patient for examination.
• (25%)* Draw up IV contrast if needed; administer oral contrast if indicated; perform the warm-up procedure on equipment; enter patient data and appropriate scan parameters; review patient data to ensure proper exam; review previous exams. Interview and screen patients for contraindications before having and MRI study; explain the procedure and answer patient questions.
• (25%)* Transport patient into the exam room, assist patient & position appropriately for the exam; determine if allergic to anything; inject appropriate IV contrast; perform a scan with attention to appropriate positioning; be alert for the need of additional or thinner slices/images. Utilize correct protocols, coils, restraints, and other materials when scanning.
• (15%)* Assure proper marking about the orientation of the patient; enter images with a keypad with attention to the order of images.
• (10%)* Prepare records for the radiologist and ensure that all clinical information is complete; ensure that exam images are in the correct order; provide additional information as required.

• 2+ Years Experience - Required
• Siemens - Required
• Associate Degree - Required

Profile Requirements:

• Work History
• Skills Checklist, current to 1 year, pertinent to the specialty
• 2 Supervisory Reference Forms, taken within the last two years
• Licensure & Certifications (ARRT & BLS - AHA)

Certification Requirements

• ARRT
