Job Description

A fabrication shop in Irving, Texas is seeking to hire an experienced Pipe Welder

• Monday through Friday
• Rate of pay: $24-$25

Must be able to work Saturdays,

Must be able to work 50-60 hours per week

Essential Job Duties:

• Weld pipe and structural steel from 1" to 48" to code ASME, API, 100% X-Ray
• Weld bracket and braces and use grinders.
• Position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides and steps uses measuring instruments and hand tools.
• Perform position welds on code materials.
• Operate basic cutting equipment.
• Layout and mark weld points on parts or sub-assemblies using rule, square, scribe, or templates and two hole pins.
• Read blueprints and perform own fit-up.
• Work with different types and sizes of pipe and structural steel.
• Assemble components with some fabrication of equipment with minimal supervision.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education & Experience

• Ideal candidate will be required to pass a 6G pipe test
• High School Diploma of GED
• Minimum two to three years of experience
• Certification to weld on pipe or plate
• Knowledge of different types and sizes of pipe, structural and vessel materials

Physical Demands:

• Ability to bend, squat, climb, stoop, twist and reach frequently
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. occasionally
• Ability to lift and/ or carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs frequently

Requirements:

• Must be able to pass a background check and a drug screen test
