ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
General Purpose:
To monitor and maintain the safety and cleanliness of the pool area and locker rooms. Greet swimmers as they arrive and maintain a warm, welcoming environment. Provide clean towels for swimmers as they leave the pool.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Pool Attendants are hired for specific shifts but may be called upon to sub for another Pool Attendant. This could include a Saturday morning shift.
2. Attend New Employee Orientation and departmental orientations prior to or within one month of employment to gain an understanding of the organization; the Mission, goals, Health and Wellness Philosophy.
3. Reports directly to the Wellness Director.
4. Greets swimmers as they arrive and maintains a warm and friendly environment at all times.
5. Maintains a clean stock of towels for members. Monitors and/or maintains the safety and cleanliness of the pool area and locker rooms and reports any concerns to maintenance, housekeeping or Wellness Director.
6. Notifies Wellness Director of any supplies that need to be ordered for the pool area.
7. Maintains accurate daily records of pool chemistry, attendance, pool temperature, Informs maintenance and Wellness Director of any variations from the norms.
8. Completes Incident Reports as needed and immediately submits them to Wellness Director. If Director is not available, the pool attendant will inform the Campus Executive Director and Head of Nursing of the incident and submit a copy of the report to them.
9. Directs questions or concerns when unsure how to answer, or if questions or concerns cannot be satisfied, to the Wellness Director.
10. Substitutes for other pool attendants whenever available on an “as needed” basis.
Other Related Duties
• At Judson Park, Pool Attendants may be asked to phone class participants in the event that a class is cancelled at the last minute.
• At Judson Park only, Pool Attendant will answer the Pool phone and provide information about Pool Hours and Classes. Refer any calls that you are unable to answer to Fitness Specialists, or Wellness Director.
• Provide water for Aquatic class participants as needed. Put away any stray Aquatic Exercise Equipment after swimmer use.
• DRY mop exercise room floor at the end of the day.
• Assist in yearly cleaning of natatorium and outside Pool deck.

Minimum Qualifications, Education and Certifications:
Required Qualifications:
• Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, and time management skills with a strong background in successfully delivering exceptional customer service and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, time management skills to ensure completion of duties.
• Have access to a computer and cell phone in order to receive work-related emails and phone messages from coworkers, supervisors and All Judson notifications.
• Must have reliable transportation to/from work.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience communicating and working with older adults.
• High School level or higher education.
Physical Requirements:
Adequate hearing for communication requirements including phone work. Communication skills including articulation and enunciation to be heard and understood. Physical demands may include standing or sitting for extended periods, walking, lifting up to 20 lbs., climbing stairs, bending, stooping and repetitive motion. The ability to communicate verbally and in writing, to perceive and understand verbal and written communications, use personal computers, telephones and other standard office equipment are required.
