Residential Drafter

New position now available for a detail-oriented Residential Drafter to join our dynamic home design team!

In this role, you will play a critical part in bringing unique visions to life, drafting detailed plans for custom homes, remodels, and additions. Utilizing AutoCAD, you will work closely with architects, designers, and construction teams to produce accurate, high-quality drawings that serve as the foundation for exceptional projects. Your residential design skills will be enhanced, and you will become an authority in custom residential houses.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed residential construction drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and details, using AutoCAD
• Interpret design concepts and translate them into technical drawings that meet project specifications, building codes, and zoning requirements
• Collaborate with architects, designers, and project managers to refine designs and incorporate client feedback
• Assist in preparing permit and construction documentation for new homes, remodels, and additions
• Maintain organized records of project files and revisions to ensure seamless communication across departments
• Stay updated on local building codes, materials, and construction methods to ensure compliance and complete drawing sets

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience in residential drafting, preferably in custom homes or remodels
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with additional drafting or 3D modeling software like Revit or SketchUp is a plus
• Strong understanding of residential design and construction processes, including framing and structural systems is helpful
• Knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, and construction documentation standards
• Attention to detail, with the ability to produce accurate and precise technical drawings
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
• Associate’s degree or certification in drafting, architecture, or a related field is preferred
