Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and coordination of Mainframe Application Retirements. The individual will be responsible for working with multiple teams to ensure that mainframe applications and servers are retired effectively, with minimal disruption to business operations. This position requires expertise in project management and strong communication skills, with a bonus for knowledge of mainframe systems.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in technical project management, especially coordinating large-scale, cross-functional projects.
  • Familiarity with mainframe systems and their retirement processes is a significant advantage, though not mandatory.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder communication and reporting.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to manage complex scenarios and coordinate with various teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with mainframe technologies, including legacy systems and data archival processes.
  • Previous involvement in application retirements or decommissioning of legacy systems.
  • Agile/Scrum experience is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and Execute Mainframe Retirements: Lead cross-functional teams to plan, monitor, and retire mainframe applications and servers, ensuring a smooth transition from legacy systems to modern infrastructure.
  • Activity Planning: Develop and execute plans for mainframe retirement based on multiple scenarios, considering the need for stopping business usage, flushing out business activities, and completing data archival activities.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal and external teams to manage project timelines, dependencies, and risks. Communicate updates regularly to all stakeholders.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain clear, concise, and detailed documentation for all retirement activities. Produce regular status reports to track progress and address any challenges promptly.
  • Problem Resolution: Identify potential issues or blockers in the retirement process and work collaboratively with teams to find and implement solutions.
  • Maintain Communication Channels: Serve as the main point of contact for all project-related communication, both written and verbal, ensuring effective communication with internal teams and stakeholders.

Education : Bachelor’s Degree and equivalent work experience.
